2022

Summary

Bangtan Academy is made by ARMY for ARMY (And friends of ARMY). We are Korean learning community in Discord where volunteers work on structuring content from creators such as Go Billy, TTMIK (Talk to me in Korean), LKIK (Learn Korean in Korean) and HTSK (How To Study Korean) among others. We have created an environment where people wanting to learn the language can do so in a mostly free and structured way, where they need to post 1 homework a month to stay in the community. We have just turned 3 years since the creation of the server!The Census 2022 was conducted from September 2022 to November 2022 and features responses from 1447 students. The full member count of the server fluctuates around 2,500 - 3,000 members.

SEJIN

For counting homework we use our own bot called "Manager Sejin" (Honouring one of BTS's managers) made by our coding crew, who after the homework is checked, logs the homework so we know who has completed homework.

3thirty6 Army

3thirty6 is a motivational space to build and retain habits along with other armys. Each wave/challenge runs for 10 days. The habits are tracked by filling in a pre designed board. Unless stated otherwise, waves start on 1st, 11th and 21st of each month.

Army Forest

Forest is an app that helps you stay focused on a task without getting distracted by your mobile device. Whenever you want to focus on something for a set period of time, plant a tree in your app and leave your device unattended. Join others and plant trees together, or plant on your own. ForestARMY enjoy sharing tree links to plant together and motivate each other.

DEV

Due demand and the growth of the server we have a Development team (formed by a group of students volunteers), who are in charge of analyzing and helping with the creation of classes and clubs we use on the server. They give guidance to any student of the server who wants to propose a class/club (and fulfills the requisites), in things like structuring to the content, assigning appropriated study levels, find or develop supplementary material to complement the content, plan homework and beta test the class/club before it's officially launched.
